Hey parents! Do you want your kids to be more creative and embrace the written word? Whether you’re a homeschooling family needing a fun class to fill out your curriculum, or you have a student who loves to write, I have taught hundreds of students to share my love of storytelling.
I’ve been writing for over 30 years. I’ve been published in magazines, newspapers and trade publications. I’ve had short stories and novels published. I’ve been with traditional publishers, such as Thorndike, small presses and self-published. I’ve written in Christian romance, mystery, historical sweet romance, suspense and children’s.
I also taught for the Institute of Children’s Literature for five years, guiding people toward their dreams of being published authors. I’ve guided homeschool classes, online workshops and even taught at various writers’ conferences in the past. I was one of the first people to lead online writing workshops. Back then, we led them on the AOL platform.
I have a wealth of knowledge I’d love to share with students about writing. For this group class, I’ll be offering two versions. The first is for K-5 and will be adaptable for different ages and skills. The second is for middle and high school with the same adaptability. Once I know your child’s grade level and abilities, I’ll send the appropriate course for their needs.
The course runs for six sessions. Each session focuses on a skill students need to be better storytellers. There will be a pre-recorded video lesson for students to view. They’ll then work independently on a story and send it to me for gentle encouragement and feedback weeks 1 – 5. Week 6 is reserved for a general analysis and encouragement to continue building skills on their own. I am adept at pointing out what they do really well, what they can improve and guiding them to be better writers without crushing their spirit.
Because the course is six weeks, you’ll have plenty of time to fit in other requirements. If your child loves the class, I also offer independent tutoring and will be adding additional creative writing classes. Have questions? Send an email to: Essays@BeautifulDayLearning.com
I do limit the spaces to no more than five students at a time to allow for intensive feedback. Only 4 spots left. Hurry and sign up! https://buy.stripe.com/bIY4jJgKO49b4k89AB
